Getting more and more obsessed with Netflix Gaming was a great fucking move, the live events are flipping the status quo for broadcasts, hitting numbers on par with Superbowl viewership This kinda full stack IP arbitrage is crazy - wired & inspired Next decade of entertainment is gonna be nuts

Huge whitespace for a social layer especially as they step into this multi modal era of on demand, live and gaming I think the bigger problem is that the content licensing model is so deeply flawed - no player can offer a holistic experience akin to spotify and music This creates a lot of tension in the industry, leading to overpaying/underpaying for license, for talent, for IP - the only way out seems to be to own as much of the stack, which they are spending a significant chunk of that ~$15B yearly to do, which is smart

Agreed on the social layer but social is really hard so Iād think that social integrations would be the best approach for Netflix The content licensing model definitely needs improvement but the competition is healthy but we need better tech to aggregate services/providers

Yeah bet, even clip sharing with a netflix watermark like how tiktok blew up could be really interesting They kind of took a step this direction with moments but it felt kinda half cooked in it's current form I think all the streaming services learned hard lessons the past few years about how damaging the pay one/pay two windows were to their bottom line - especially the new players, so I think outside of original content we will see a lot more content go out on more services at the same time going forward
