If we were to work on channels as a developer lego, what should we improve?

Decentralizing existing primitive doesn’t drive network growth. 

So would have to offer something new / compelling.

since apparently the "build another client, not a priority rn, doesn't drive long term growth, etc" is the default response here

(despite the general sense that channels are a rushed, underexplored feature (potential new primitive) where the lack of prioritization and thoughtfulness has led to increased friction and a worse NUX)

is anyone building a channel-focused client? 

i'm incredibly excited about the promise of channels and promise to dedicate a portion of my time, energy, and resources to exploring this with you and supporting you

i am a force of nature, as some of you may know, especially when i'm motivated by both the mission and someone telling me i'm wrong

Currently no way to interact with channels meaningfully outside of warpcast

Talks of a new api that other clients can use in the interim to add follows etc 

That alone will make it a lot easier for teams to rationalize having their feed embedded in their experiences imo

It's just one of those things stuck in limbo between a "Farcaster feature" or a "warpcast feature" 

Think the general attitude to other clients being able to piggyback off warpcast in the interim has changed too ( for the better )- ie. DM & block apis are warpcast not Farcaster

imo last weeks dev call was chockablock full of small changes that could help other clients reach warpcast parity 

- API for channel follows
- Conversation about signer based auth so other clients wouldn't need to become wallet clients to provide SIWF (HUGE IMO)

Whereas before the sentiment was warpcast feature first, decentralize, then other clients have feature parity

thanks for context. do you know why isn't there an API right now? or what's the rational against having an API for channels? simply prioritization?
