What was the story with this?

I was in NYC in 2022 - and had a few places I went too - but it was always super lowkey and supply was so random haha

After legalization as in other markets players took advantage of gray areas and opened unlicensed bodegas selling product — Mostly from cal. City’s legal licensing roll out was way too slow. There might be 5 legal dispensaries for 8m people. So now, city is shutting down the illegal dispensaries…
