too much utility for a memecoin, never ends well (see the classic NFT project playbook). imo we would be better off investing in incentivizing the creation of better memes + better distribution for those memes.

Going to push back a bit here.

While I generally agree that memes are the core driver of brand awareness I don't view DEGEN as strictly a memecoin.

I think the project will be successful based on how strong of a product and tech stack it offers and if others use the same model.

I think the L3 route is certainly more novel and pioneering in spirit but also more risky, as I described. still believe that we need funding rounds to incentivize better memes because currently it's meh.

Sure but the amount of overhead on funding and then executing those rounds is a bigger lift than people give it credit for.

Typically crypto tends to reward the more risky plays if we're being honest :P
