TIL about Tornado Cash, a dApp built on Ethereum that enables users to anonymize their transactions (heard it mentioned several times during the /veil launch).

Apparently, the US sanctioned Tornado Cash and accused it of money laundering, including developers Roman Semenov and Alexey Pertsev.

Incredibly, our very own @brileigh and @matthewb "organized and managed the entire campaign to crowdfund Roman and Alexey's legal defence, which raised over $2M in ETH."

small clarification: the fundraisers that we helped organize are for Roman Storm in the U.S. and Alexey Pertsev in the Netherlands, not Roman Semenov.

both are still under-funded for their legal defense, particularly Roman whose team is preparing for his trial mid-april which will cost ~ $1M USD alone.
