I didn't know there was also a CD player from Nagra. Too expensive if you're looking just a cd player since this is also has built-in DAC 8x oversampling and Preamplifier that increase the price. Interesting I2S Output function. Why is there a DVD in the tray if CD players aren't capable of playing DVDs?

the CDP was a transport, DAC, and preamp in one chassis hence the price. at the time there was also a transport only version called CDT and one without the preamp section but with a DAC called CDC. current Nagra DACs are Classic II, Tube DAC, and HD DAC X. no transports or players anymore.

Yes, the current Nagra DAC is the one that uses 2xHD for their remastered albums. I still don't understand why they chose to promote it with a DVD disc that can't be played on this player. This sampler DVD also appears to lack an LPCM audio track, and if I remember correctly, the Jeff Healey songs had DC offset issues.

it’s a sampler compilation CD that shipped with the CDC and CDT players, it is playable
