I often hear people say they want to move out of the city to raise kids.

But ironically the best place I can think of for my future kids to grow up would be Manhattan. That’s what I would have wanted for myself if I had known it was an option.

for me, it was awesome to go out and just play in nature (football, hide & seek, learn to bike, rollerskate, etc.) when I was 3ish years old.

Well I love walking and exploring cities, and I always have. Even as a little kid I used to sketch out skyscrapers and cities and then build them in legos and then video games.

I also grew up in the suburbs tho until college, so I have a lot of memories similar to yours too! but I feel at home in NYC.
