Progress update! here's where I landed on for the new flow.

Design changes (thanks to everyone who provided feedback!):
- moved everything except appearance stuff to the first page. moved image to the second page.
- made the bg/border for the inputs stronger
- put everything besides basic details under "advanced". thinking about collapsing that list by default, but not sure.
- removed the "import" button for partiful / luma, and just let ppl paste directly in the title.
- removed the ability to set color hex's and opted for a "shuffle" button that will pull dominant colors from whatever image is uploaded
- hid the font selector behind a dropdown

Would be helpful to know:
- do you think letting ppl paste luma/partiful in the title field is too complex? I really don't want to add an extra step to the start of the flow but that's the alternative.
- do you think advanced options should be collapsed by default? I'm worried ppl won't realize there are options there they might want.

Figured I'd keep posting progress updates—here's the latest composer action design! If these casts are helpful / interesting, lmk what else about my process you'd want to see.

- removed many of the "boxes" in the UI to reduce visual strain. Before each input had its own, and now each group has one.
- made the text / colors larger and more contrasty.
- moved advanced to a hidden dropdown (if you switch to an IRL location, it'll pop open automatically since most IRL events use a waitlist)
- combined the "waitlist" and "auto approve" toggles into one. One switch is easier than two.

Will decide in the morning if I'm happy enough with this to build it or back to the drawing board.
