why are ppl still posting in personal channels? i get it w ones like /six or /july that have evolved into subcultures (which is very cool). but what’s the point if it’s just you?

personal brand, a way of curating casts or marking them as having a specific intent or context i see /heavygweit as being a curated version of my profile feed. once i set up channels for stories in Uno, i'll also likely send my evergreen stories there too

I think a lot of people want to build an audience and a place for them. They know they may not be clubted or six but they’d like their own little version of that. Also, people haven’t adjusted to new realities and are creatures of habit when change is introduced.

Seems like a similar meta as asking why do you post on your personal IG You want to create your own feed of your own thoughts and projects instead of share your thoughts just to your feed or organize them into a channels

probably the same reason people have been maintaining personal blogs for decades :) not everyone wants a personal blog, but some do want a place on the internet to serve as their digital diary or home to their thoughts

1) people can super-follow a channel 2) altho they can also super-follow a user, if a user casts in their own channel, it's a different vibe
