many web3 digital artists have ditched @warpcast and are now focusing exclusively on x. you might think, "so what?" but this actually matters. these artists already get the tech and are deep in crypto culture. yet, they don’t care enough about farcaster to connect with their audience here. the dev/builder-heavy culture on farcaster might be cool if you’re into that niche, but it’s still just that—a niche. and i get that you might not like hearing this, but it’s the truth. for artists who just want to share their work, it’s exhausting. the best product managers i’ve worked with as a designer focus on bridging the gap between tech and consumers, leaning toward the consumer side. it feels like the farcaster builder ecosystem is resisting that approach, stuck in the dev mindset. maybe it’s because those deep in engineering often lack the consumer vision.

eh, i don't think most people want to scroll a feed full of ai-driven art on a text-based social network. it's also a niche, just like dev stuff.

it’s wild everyone assumes i’m talking about AI art. you’re actually proving my point—this is a hyper-niche, builder/dev-centric network. nothing wrong with that. i enjoy the discussions here, but let’s not pretend this space doesn’t generally shun anyone who isn’t a builder or dev.

disagree with the word “shunning”, that implies there’s an intentional exclusion. people have interests, they like what they like, and that’s fine. re ai art, it’s just what i see posted here and elsewhere 🤷♂️

you’re right, maybe “shunning” isn’t the best word. but there’s still an implicit exclusion happening. it’s not that people are intentionally keeping others out, but the dynamic makes it clear who fits in and who doesn’t. the same applies here. as for seeing more ai art, maybe it’s a result of current curation systems. perhaps devs could explore improving onchain curation to offer more tailored content. might be an interesting way to bring non-ai visual artists back into the farcaster fold (if that is desired).
