mt rainier in all its glory 🤩 qq, why do you fly from portland? doesn’t it overall take more time than if you travel by train? the views are totally worth it but i was curious if there were other reasons.

I fly mainly for the frequent flyer miles and status with Alaska Airlines, since my employer/clients cover the cost of the flight. I'll drive if I'm up there for personal reasons. I'm the sort of traveler that likes to be walking up to the gate as my flight is boarding, so I actually don't end up spending too much extra time in the airport. It's probably about the same as driving, or taking the train.
