I planted this red-flowering currant plant (native to Oregon) as a single twig last fall, and now it’s blossoming.

I also set out my mason bee house and cocoons today, so they should start emerging later today/tomorrow as it warms up.

I’m hoping the fruit on this one will be palatable, and that I can get to them before the birds and squirrels!

yeppp it’s that time again. i’m watching our elderberries bloom in socal, knowing their fruit likely won’t make it past june (,: but i hope you get to enjoy some fruit & if not then enjoy knowing that other critters were able to ☀️
