Apart from the noise created by Trump and his supporters about acquiring Greenland, the issue of the island's rich resources has always been crucial for Europe and, naturally, most of all for Denmark. Greenland, as a self-governing territory with nearly 40 types of extractable minerals and precious metals, holds immense value for European and American companies and investors. This is one part of Greenland’s importance, while its strategic location in the Arctic adds another layer to the discussions about the island. It’s no surprise that recent news and analyses about Greenland have intensified. Fresh assessments of the island’s abundant resources are directly linked to the unique conditions of climate change and the melting of ice caps. Of course, the fact that Trump, likely encouraged by specific sponsors, is once again entertaining the idea of "acquiring" Greenland will bring its own consequences, further eroding his already shaky credibility.

Trump doesn’t need to acquire Greenland; it’s enough for him to secure permission to purchase and exploit its mineral resources and take control of security matters. With the current pressures, he has almost achieved his goal.

Europe does not have the cost of extracting so many minerals, if it had been using it for so many years, it would be better for Greenland and its people to join US and become rich themselves.
