Why, what's worse in web3 with regards to creator monetization than in web2?

Yes, I'm curious to hear your perspective because I think some (limited number) of web3 creators are better off than their web2 counterparts:
Avg SuperRare artwork price is $3k 
Open edition mints have made decent money for some creators
Sound pays long tail of artist more than they earn on Spotify in royalties

For one, creators lack a web3-native way to sell premium content.

Authors, filmmakers, course creators, …even if web3 empowers them to control their content & own their fans, they don’t want their IP to be right-click-savable or token gated (mimics web2’s platform-centric model).
