at least in chile, we have this cultural thing that pregnant couples have to wait till the baby is 3 months old to tell family and friends about the pregnancy the reason being because of how painful it would be to have a miscarriage, and the disappointment it would bring it sucks. i don’t like it at all. how can’t you share with your loved ones such an important news? and more than that: how is it possible that we can’t deal with pain together? it is painful to lose a baby and even more painful and sad is to have to swallow all that pain on your own because society expected you to not tell it about the pregnancy hope these things change soon. there are aspects of life that are painful. death is a part of life actually, death is what gives life meaning. even of a newborn that didn’t make it the next years will bring enormous amount of progress and evolution and that needs to come with spiritual evolution also. and that means facing every aspect of the human experience together

In my opinion, I think it makes sense to wait to share the news for that exact reason. However, I didn’t realize it was a cultural thing in some areas. Is it culturally taboo to share the news earlier?
