A year ago, my dad lost his job and we found out he has vascular dementia. This week, we are looking for memory care centers for him to move into. This shit moved so fast. It’s actually frightening. From working in 2024 to completely unable to care for himself a year later.

The fact that dementia is a real disease, as opposed to a devilish artistic invention by a horror author, is itself terrifying.
