🗃️ #backlog2go 🔆 Close to The Sun

I crossed another game off my backlog. I am very careful not to get spoiled on the games that particularly catch my attention and that I plan to play. The reason I'm saying this is that I didn’t know much about the gameplay of this game, despite so many years having passed since its release.

First of all, I should mention that I finished the game from start to finish in one sitting. Unfortunately, there's wasted potential here. The positives: the story is interesting and engaging, and the environment design is nice. The negatives: the ending sequence feels rushed, the gameplay and interactions are shallow, and many details that were added like mere decorations.

I tried to complete the game 100% by collecting all the items, but I only managed to do so up to the 6th chapter; the lack of engaging gameplay made me want to finish it as quickly as possible.

I’m saddened to see so much narrative potential and many beautiful details go to waste like this.
