This new FMV game, set in Cappadocia, blends Turkish mysticism with sci-fi in a truly unique way. You play as Nazar, a psychic operative navigating both ancient lore and advanced tech to battle a shadowy organization called the Fatum Order. The game combines interactive cinema with 2D platforming, creating a rich, layered experience that lets you peer into the future to solve puzzles. There's even a system using Zener cards, like an ESP test, to expand your psychic abilities as you go. With a soundtrack by Inon Zur and scenes inspired by Turkish shadow puppetry, this game offers a rare mix of storytelling, stunning visuals, and cerebral gameplay in a setting where culture and fantasy collide. I recently had the chance to try the demo of WW2 Rebuilder, a game released in 2023 that’s been on my wishlist for quite a while. To put it briefly, it feels like a missed opportunity with great potential left unexplored. The core mechanic of clearing rubble, demolishing damaged buildings, and replacing objects is overly simplistic. Simply clicking to build structures doesn’t give you the feeling of actually creating or accomplishing something. The demo only allows you to play two levels, so judging the entire game from this may be unfair, but I doubt the main gameplay mechanics are much different. The first level is a very brief tutorial, so it doesn’t add much, but the second level gives you a clearer picture of the game's general style. One of my biggest pet peeves in games like this is the presence of invisible walls and completely closed-off buildings that you should be able to enter.
