Proposal 536 (nouns fungible token) didn't pass, but we're releasing the code for anyone to use or modify. We also deployed the factory contract to sepolia & mainnet (addresses in the README). The code is pretty simple, but hasn't been audited.

The fungible token — $nouns —  is a thing I believe should exist and can do much good for the growth of our world. I picked up where others left off and submitted a PR to OP.

so in theory the token is live? just need someone to mint the first tokens or how does it work?

yes, anyone can add liquidity by adding NOUN nfts to the pool
