A fully electric fleet by 2050 is vital to achieve zero emissions under the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. According to estimates by BloombergNEF in the latest long-term forecast for electric vehicles, this fleet of the future may require 8.3 petawatt-hours of electricity per year by then. This is 50 times more electricity than the global fleet of electric vehicles consumed last year. Even the more conservative BNEF energy transition scenario shows that electricity demand for electric vehicles in 2050 will exceed 5 petawatt hours, or more electricity than the US consumed last year.

Bankruptcies in the United States are growing rapidly Until May of this year, 275 large companies declared bankruptcy, which is the second figure since 2010. Over the past 14 years, in 2023 alone, a greater number of bankruptcy registrations were recorded — 277. In May 2024 alone, 62 firms went bankrupt, which is the third highest monthly figure since 2020. Most of the bankruptcies have occurred in consumer companies as Americans continue to reduce their spending.

For the first time in 4 years, the unemployment rate in the United States exceeded the 36-month moving average. In previous economic cycles, each time this happened, there was a rapid spike in the unemployment rate. This also coincided with the economy falling into recession. The unemployment rate has been trending upward since April 2023 and has risen from 3.4% to 4.0%.

S&P Global downgraded France's rating by one notch to AA-, which is below the level of the UK's credit rating, citing a larger-than-expected budget deficit. The rating company predicts that France's debt will rise to 112% of GDP in the next three years, compared with 109% last year.

The Fed recognizes that some countries are starting to move away from the dollar(in pm to gold). To be more precise:China, India, Russia and Turkey. Concern for the future of the dollar here begins with the realization that this "small group" is -37% of the world's population -25% of global GDP -19% of world exports
