agreed, but the alternative to algo feeds is unclear. people prefer them to chrono feeds past a certain number of connections. credible neutrality def needs to rethink recommendation algorithms. and, at very least, provide transparency. i think the super notification—notify me when users is posting—is a pretty good signal to build upon. i also like the idea of being able to pick algorithms like thematic playlists. but the scariest thing is that you have to exercise some degree of paternalism (registration, or building products that are good for people), which is so antithetical to the crypto vibe. and no one wants to do that. it’s like social sugar. people will choose to manipulative algo over the one that’s good for them.

I think the thing that needs to be fixed is the ability for someone to tune it as they please - it’s also unclear what exactly that means right now They’re obviously superior to non-algo feeds in many ways so I’m not advocating for doing away with them
