Les Machines & Penser (Thinking Machines) was published in 1952 and is a significant historical text in the field of computer science and cybernetics. You can find copies of this still on sale but the original 1952 is quite a rare breed.

Ah, at least there seems to be a German translation "Denkmaschinen" with a foreword by Max Bense (sure, who else).

I do speak French, but I'd switch to the English translation (in case there is one). I'd have too much of a hard time understanding philosophical or scientific texts, I believe.
