Doechii's been nominated for a Grammy. Four times (!): Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Remixed Recording.
Generally speaking, this is the year of Doechii. Bend your fingers:
1) "Alligator Bites Never Heal" received absolutely deserved critical and listener acclaim, a perfect mix of text-centric boom-bap, melodic hip-hop, and sassy self-representation.
2) Doechii is theUIAlert you need right now. Just check the list of artists she has already covered this year: Katy Perry, Banks, Tyler, The Creator. She has gained some merit on this side of the ocean too: James Blake and Little Simz were at the London concert and took photos together with obvious pleasure.
3) The single "NISSAN ALTIMA" has already sold more than 100 000 copies in the US.
I leave here my favorite songs from "Alligator Bites Never Heal", but highly recommend listening to the whole mixtape. TDE know how to make stars out of original artists, so I'm sure she's the next. 1 reply

I really enjoyed the new Kelly Lee Owens album, where she sings more than ever and records the most euphoric techno-pop in her entire career. There is this one refrain that gets repeated at "Dreamstate", "wanting pure euphoria", believe me, it gets quite hard to get out of your head.
What influenced her so much? It was the tour with Depeche Mode, where she sometimes warmed up 75,000 people, the desire to follow her inner voice, and freedom and escapism; a craving for new collaborations-very uncharacteristic for Kelly.
It is an album that features the song "Ballad (In The End)", recorded with Tom Rowlands-1 / 2 of the Chemical Brothers, with credits from Scottish electronic due Bicep and The 1975 drummer George Daniel.
The album is literally teeming with club bangers like "Higher", "Sunshine", "Air", which just make you want to greet the dawn at some festival, diluted with dreamy airy compositions like the above-mentioned "Ballad (In The End)" or the final "Trust and Desire". It turns out amazing. 0 reply

Bright: the power of style and love
I think you know few cases when couples recorded a joint album. Alas, the synergy of two people is not always the same thing as the synergy of two musicians. Well, today this is not the case at all. So, these two lovers, loving music, got together and came up with an album that's really cool, one which doesn't sound stale even after 4 years. So, here's the album "Bright" from great Sickboyrari and his pretty lady Bootychaaain.
If with Cray, relatively speaking, many people knew about him, we had enough posts about him, and everywhere they respect him - he even invited Kizaru to Karmagedon, then with Bootychaaain everything is a little more complicated. She at one time, like Rari, was one of the pioneers of trad sound, always made stylish women's rap, was on Plaksheri from Bulvar and Fara, by the way, but still remains in the underground. Well, we love under here. We do, don't we? 0 reply
