The Hydrant Directory by Day Lane is a sweet project that provides index of fire hydrants that have been decorated by street artists or local residents. Each hydrant has been 3D scanned (Polycam) and is viewable online with its GPS address, an interactive 3D model and a color palette based on the scan. Great use of GLTF! ❤️ https://dayroselane.com/hydrants

You are right, a very cool use of GLTF. Shared it with my students right away. 500 $degen

Ah, thanks! 🙏 It's a whimsical project, butstill a geospatial index, and the GLTF models make it special. I'm looking at GLTF recently as a potential output, it raises some interesting questions about objects without a space. Would love to hear if you've seen any interesting uses in the realm of architecture!

One example... We've been playing with image-to-3D models with students. Output is GLTF model, so easy to import into Blender or share online. In theory we could build an online database of the models at the end. It is possible to generate a whole building from an image, but we are aiming more towards generating components then assembling them manually.
