I love the serious energy architects like @luka and @mrkswcz ++ bring to the generative art space. The code to do something like this is not trivial, and the skill to make good work with it isn't, either.

Kind words Marius πŸ™ We gen-architects are a small but passionate subset of the genart community. These days it’s easier to just publish the work, many open platforms out there, but much harder to find curators or collectors with interest.

I'm well aware of your plight, been following gen arch since the mid-2000's and it never had a natural home. Architecture isn't very forgiving towards pure form research, parametricism aside. Seeing you, Jacek and people like Aranda/Lasch find a space in the NFT scene made a ton of sense. I'm not interested in whether the work is "really" art or architecture, I think that's entirely up to the maker. But I've been around enough to plenty of architects hating. πŸ˜…

When I moved to NYC in 2008 I got a lot of love for how Generator.x covered architecture from the start. The scene back then was small but vibrant, it's nice to see Marc Fornes and Softlab doing well and getting commissions. But the identity crisis still runs deep. πŸ«‚

Thank you for sharing those experience. Sometimes I feel architects go through an identity crisis every decade or so, although there is still a certain persistence of ideas in the broader profession. We are stubborn and hate changing our ways, although this is conditioned on the construction industry itself. Marc Fornes and people like him are an exception to that rule.
