More 90's graphic design: P. Scott Makela was an influential pioneer of 90's po-mo inspired, experimental graphic design. His work spanned print, video and type design. 

With Laurie Haycock he co-chaired the 2D program at Cranbrook Academy of Art, 1996-99.

"Ever Onward Under Other Skies"

Tragically, Scott died suddenly in 1999 from a rare infection of the epiglottis. I considered Scott a friend even though I only met him a handful of times. Seeing this plaque to his memory is certainly moving.
