A quick Google reveals snarky comments about how Virtual Boy (and most likely Sega Glasses, too) wasn't "real" VR, just a stereoscopic display. I tried some high end VR helmets back in the 1990's and I'm not sure it really made much difference (except maybe for head tracking..)
