My heart still is beating fast from what happened earlier. It is Memorial Day in Israel and I went to a memorial service for the fallen at a central square outside. We had a 1 minute siren all across the country to commemorate the lives lost. We resumed the service with stories of those lost. All of the sudden, we heard what sounded like shots. Everyone started running towards the exits which they had made out of barricades. There weren’t enough exits and people started trampling each other. We got out and helped a couple people up. Many of my friends lost their shoes and we ran all the way home, some of them without their shoes. In the end, they had arrested someone suspicious but there was no attack. The community is so on edge here and ready to react in a moments notice. 

It was a life flashes before your eyes moment and I’m grateful that I’m okay and safe at home 🏠
