Tjipombo's Prayer for Rain

It was the peak of the three-year-long draught and indigenous people were losing their most valuable assets in staggering numbers. I saw this Himba man walking past our camping ground, in the middle of nowhere, carrying a dead baby goat. He shared with me the despair they are feeling amid this crisis. I felt so hopeless not knowing what comfort or help to offer.

And then I said, let's pray for rain.
As the sun was setting, there we were - 2 strangers joined in their heartfelt prayer for the miracle.
