"Large numbers of 'wireless devices' simultaneously exploded across Lebanon in an apparently coordinated attack that caused hundreds of injuries, Lebanese health officials said on Tuesday. Hezbollah said that pagers belonging to its members had exploded, but that the cause was being investigated. Three people, including a child, were killed, according to the statement, which did not assign blame for the blasts. Lebanon’s health minister, Firass Abiad, said that hundreds of people had been injured. The Israeli military declined to comment. Three officials briefed on the attack said that it had targeted hundreds of pagers belonging to Hezbollah operatives who have used such devices for years to make it harder for their messages to be intercepted. The devices were programmed to beep for several seconds before exploding." Great reminder to touch grass and spend less time on your devices. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/09/17/world/israel-hamas-war-news/here-are-the-latest-developments?smid=url-share
