The question is simple. Do you think Base should make a token? The argument has always been that Coinbase wouldn’t want to take on that regulatory burden. But with Trump launching a fucking memecoin, the game has kinda changed. I’m conflicted. Part of what makes Base appealing is the fact that it doesn’t have a native token. It’s easier for newbies to understand (imo). But, I know a Base token would ignite a ton of additional activity on the network and probably be a big net positive. What do you think? https://frame.weponder.io/api/polls/28851

I think releasing another L2 native token won't do the base mainnet any good right now as I think it will waste too much money that could've been spent in a better place. The airdrop/token would be more useful to make the network popular after the basic steps are taken to make BASE a dominant network among other L2s.

But it is already the most dominant network among other L2s. More volume and tx than most others combined.

Wow, I did not know that base was higher than OP, ARB, linea, polygon (some might not be an L2 but feel like it). It certainly does not feel like too many real people are here with us. 😬 I guess with SOL L2s coming soon and coins like XRP being back from the dead more volume and people are needed. What I meant by my reply is that there needs to be more marketing and specific use cases involved. I think that base network is a great place for NFTs to be resurrected on.
