The question is simple. Do you think Base should make a token? The argument has always been that Coinbase wouldn’t want to take on that regulatory burden. But with Trump launching a fucking memecoin, the game has kinda changed. I’m conflicted. Part of what makes Base appealing is the fact that it doesn’t have a native token. It’s easier for newbies to understand (imo). But, I know a Base token would ignite a ton of additional activity on the network and probably be a big net positive. At this point it has to do something. Like I love the energy Jesse and the team bring. But in the big scene the liquidity here is not gonna do it. So there needs to be something to ignite that problem.

No bc Base USP amongst L2s is no token. Yes we compete with Solana for now, but at some point they'll need to scale as well, possibly via their own L2s. I still believe that institutional inflows into CB and Base will lift this eco. And there will be retail that dislikes the at times vulgar Solana casino.
