It's a weird dynamic for sure. Some people I am more comfortable with NOT talking to for long periods of time. I don't know what it is. But some of the people that I talk to the least are some of my best acquaintances, also. 😅

I think it's ok to take it as a hint, but not necessarily a hint that you shouldn't interact ever. Better to consider who you're interacting with, how you're interacting, what they care about, and how busy they are. Top accounts get 1000+ notifications, so you might get missed. But if you have something particularly valuable to say, I think say it.

I think it depends on the tone of the cast you’re replying to. For example, a ham cannon/moneygun sort of cast vs a posting of art or something creative. I don’t expect any response to spammy sorts of casts but definitely get a little irked when I put some thought into the response and then get ghosted.

While I see what you are saying, some people on here have a big following and it's not exactly comparable to a conversation, but a reading or even a concert / stadium match. It's ok to applaud or tell someone next to you your thoughts. Small accounts can grow into meaningful contributors over time too.
