I like it if good casts are promoted. I don’t like it if brands, token launches, nft launches, engagement farming etc are promoted.

Theoretically those are the only people who are going to continue to pay to promote their casts. Those with a financial incentive to do so. This comes down more to the people quote casting promotions and not adding any context. Personally; I am building campaigns that exclude the majority of these people already. It’s not hard. Just say “followed by DWR” & a few other OGs who don’t suffer spam. Now your ad only shows up for people who if they do it, won’t do it shittily.

Yes, the financial incentive came to mind as I was replying earlier as well. The pros to me are: 1. there is transparency on whether a cast is promoted or not 2. Creators/ influencers get to monetise their engagement The cons (to me) are: 1. Perhaps the gap between the smaller accounts and bigger accounts get wider (granted, it’s the responsibility of each individual to grow their own accounts) 2. It can be spammed and bad actors may wrongly use it to promote scams. Again, due diligence is a self responsibility. All in all, it’s amazing tech and innovation, which is why farcaster is such an intriguing place.
