One thing that I used to do a lot before I started feeling happier was living for someday. “Someday when I have more money, I’ll be happy.” “Someday when I’m happy, I’ll take better care of myself.” Stop living for someday. Start living for today because tomorrow isn't promised.

Wise words here bro. It’s way too easy to get caught up in the “soon I’ll do this/that” as the days slip by. I’ve been guilty of that quite a bit lately since medically releasing from the military. That said, I do have physical/mental injuries tagging along with me, but they shouldn’t be excuses either.

Totally agree and feel this, living abroad, for large parts has felt very temporary because to a large degree it is temporary and my permission to be there is considered and determined annually through the work permit process. So, until I am not subject to this annual review it is really hard to not think about time in these renewable slots. I do live for today but until I am not living temporarily it is hard and a conscious effort

Living for someday can lead to a life of constant waiting and dissatisfaction. Embracing today is kinda peaceful. That being said, I think it's okay to look forward to special moments, like I did as a kid when my parents bought me a new Christmas dress. I would eagerly await Christmas day to wear it. It's about finding a balance between living in the present and enjoying anticipation for the future.
