One thing that I used to do a lot before I started feeling happier was living for someday. “Someday when I have more money, I’ll be happy.” “Someday when I’m happy, I’ll take better care of myself.” Stop living for someday. Start living for today because tomorrow isn't promised.

Totally agree and feel this, living abroad, for large parts has felt very temporary because to a large degree it is temporary and my permission to be there is considered and determined annually through the work permit process. So, until I am not subject to this annual review it is really hard to not think about time in these renewable slots. I do live for today but until I am not living temporarily it is hard and a conscious effort

I get that. I think it starts small. Little things you can do to live more in the moment and then grow it from there.
