It was a change that I advocated for actually. Prior to 10/10, channel members on a spam algo didn’t have their engagement count. At that date, they did. So, a whole lot more people’s engagement counts now. :)

Anyone who is a member of the same channel where you are casting. Before if they were on the spam list, their engagement didn’t count. Now it does. I argued that if they were full members of a channel, it didn’t make sense to ignore their engagement. Merkle agreed.

🤔 this is the first that I’ve heard of this. @pichi got into some pretty incredible detail last Monday night as to her theories as to why new people were suddenly receiving the $5 reward. People were calling me in the middle of the space and I was popping in and out as much as I wanted to listen to every word. What I was left with was that people who were on the tiered spam list (maybe level 2) were previously not eligible for the $5 rewards, but that they became eligible around Oct 10th. I’ve received it 8 times since then. Very few people seem to understand what the shift was. I appreciate you trying to help me understand. I’m still confused but I’m trying to wrap my head around it all!

I’m so happy this is resolved. It disproportionally affected my community and it’s nice to “see them” all.
