There has been some talk lately about how Moxie adds a price tag to every interaction on Farcaster, so I wanted to share my take. Every platform puts a price tag on your engagement, but on others, you don’t benefit from it. At least with Moxie, we see those benefits rather than some giant social media company.

The problem is that Moxie is so concentrated with the larger accounts and it influences their behavior in responding to smaller accounts. It decreases big account replies for many genuinely contributing to the conversation because they are overwhelmed by farmers and suspicious of people they aren’t already following. it creates a big gulf of interaction that is almost as difficult to break through as algo suppression with power badges was. And since the only way to move up in social rank/Moxie generation is to be followed by and interact with big accounts, there is not much ability to grow if they don’t interact with you. I guess we need something like /powermonday again but for big account folks willing to help others cross the Moxie gap.

This isn't true though. @geoffgolberg published a report the other day showing the top 50 Moxie claimers and it's a very diversified list. People with 2000 followers are in the top 50. https://warpcast.com/geoffgolberg/0x55ea5623

Honestly surprised that you responded to this, and I do appreciate that! Is this talking about claiming as in daily rewards? Those are smaller accounts that are the exceptions then, certainly nothing the rule. They probably have good friends with really high social rank accounts that interact with them and I would be surprised if those relationships were not made before Moxie launched. It would be interesting to see who is generating that Moxie for them because if they are, say, friends with DWR they could generate that amount of Moxie pretty quickly with a few interactions with him. 13 people out of the thousands of smaller accounts does not change my point that the majority of smaller accounts are having more trouble reaching larger accounts now that Moxie has launched. I don’t even care about the Moxie, myself. I just hate leaving a thoughtful replies to conversations that are interesting to me that are completely ignored. It has happened so much more since Moxie and it makes me sad.
