April Greiman, poster for UCLA Summer Sessions, 1991. Offset lithography Not my favorite part of 90's graphic design, but make no mistake, this was radical in '91. Somewhere between analog and digital, at a time when digital was far from easy.

Very true. Bitmap served two functions - it felt futuristic and helped with the problem of resolution. In 1994 we would create posters in ~150 DPI and upsample for printing, the equipment couldn't handle 300 DPI. You had one undo, along with a whole series of saved iterations in case you needed to revert. 🤣
