One of the most impressive architectural structures in the city was inspired by ancient stepwells in India, which are intricately designed wells with steps leading down to the water. They served both practical and social purposes, similar to how the Vessel is designed to be a gathering place for people.

Thanks! It was built as a gathering place for people to walk up and check out different views. Unfortunately a lot of tragic incidents happened so they had to shut down public access.
