I have to disagree. Person (P), idea (I), and environment (E) could all be variables, but person outweighs them all. Something like P^5 + I^2 + E. This is evident in several situations from social to VC funding. 

And especially in this case, the working group didn’t exist before the statement was made.

Yes there are a lot of people “doing” here and that can build inspiration for others to do. I agree. My earlier point was for the specific scenario where an unknown person shares an idea vs a known person. For the same idea, the known person will inspire more action. Hence us being influenced by people not ideas.

You’re taking one very specific case on WC, when the past few months on this platform has been “influenced” by folks who do rather than someone like Balaji mentioning a thing
