I hear you. It’s related to my goals with Mosaic. By building on and off-credentials, you prove over time your expertise and ability to do a job. Then members could be hired in a situation like you describe. I dig it. Let me know if you want to keep exploring/brainstorming the idea.

And consultants carry a lot of baggage. 

Often an outside personality that gets paid more and waves from the dock as the ship sinks. 

This could be a task unit that has an objective deliverable vs a feel good/bad shakeup.
