Yes, learning about crypto is definitely a sunk cost. 

I was speaking to @katekornish about how the promotion we do as an industry matters at so many different levels.

She had some really interesting ideas on how to address it (maybe she might be able to summarize here)

Human psychology I guess, but from a crypto perspective I think one of the reasons its hard to shed this narrative is it's a lot easier for people to write it off as for criminals, than to go through the *discomfort of learning* about something new
