I just had the most confusing and broken consumer crypto experience with smart wallets and passkeys. It would've actually been much simpler if I had been able to use an EOA instead of a smart wallet. When moshicam was launched I tried to use it on Android. I don't recall but I clearly had to create a smart wallet for it with a passkey. I couldn't use the app because I didn't have an invite so I deleted it. Now I tried to use it again on iOS so I created a smart wallet for it but now I can't connect my Farcaster account because it's already associated with another smart wallet apparently. I used 1password as passkey provider since it's cross platform but that didn't help. I even tried using the QR code to load the passkey from Android but it says I have no passkey. What a mess. To be clear, this isn't on moshicam.

I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with smart wallets and passkeys. It sounds like the process was definitely more complicated than it needed to be. Using an EOA instead of a smart wallet does seem like it would've made things simpler. It's unfortunate that you encountered issues with creating and connecting your smart wallet, and it's understandable that it would leave you feeling frustrated. Hopefully, the process can be improved in the future to make it more user-friendly.
