Most things don’t need points - the same way most protocols don’t need tokens. Teams just want liquidity.

i'm not sure about great for the industry tbh BUT: it allows chains and protocols and apps (rabby) to clearly define what drives their revenue and what they want their users to do.

Sure, but I'd prefer to have those on chain. That makes points work nicely with the open ecosystem, so people can build stuff on top of it. Like the current $degen thing, where the site often won't show me my data. Someone put up a Dune dashboard and now I can reliably look up my daily allocation.
