Hot take: point systems are great for the industry

- Allows users to transparently know their usage and possible airdrop allocations

- Allows protocols to tweak point systems and perfect the model before officially launching tokens which is a one-time event

Most things don’t need points - the same way most protocols don’t need tokens. 

Teams just want liquidity.

BUT: it allows chains and protocols and apps (rabby) to clearly define what drives their revenue and what they want their users to do.

Sure, but I'd prefer to have those on chain. That makes points work nicely with the open ecosystem, so people can build stuff on top of it.

Like the current $degen thing, where the site often won't show me my data. Someone put up a Dune dashboard and now I can reliably look up my daily allocation.

I'm one of the first digital natives of my generation, even if I started late. I have been a web 1 fiddler, a web 2.0 dev, and I am cryptonative guy now.

I don't like points, but you can't fight evolution, as you can't fight gravity.
