Willis Carrier was an American engineer and designer who was born on November 26, 1876 in Angola, New York. Willis is best known for his invention of the first modern air conditioner. He completed the first electric air conditioner in 1902. Willis eventually founded his first company in 1915, the Carrier Company, which specialized in the design and manufacture of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
