"The Orphan's Tear" by Parvin E'tesami:
A single drop fell from the orphan's eye,
A pearl of pain, a gem of misery.
It rolled upon the earth, a silent cry,
A spark of sorrow, burning endlessly.
The heavens wept, the winds began to sigh,
The world grew dark, as if in sympathy.
That tear, though small, could make the mountains cry,
For in its depth lay boundless agony.
No wealth, no power, no gold could ever buy
The solace that the orphan's heart did seek.
No hand could wipe that tear, no lullaby
Could soothe the pain that left the spirit weak.
So let us heed the orphan's mournful plea,
And fill their world with love and charity. 3 replies
