I don't really dig it either, but am going to.

Verifying numbers does a couple of things. I believe it is more difficult for all bots to have numbers. One other reason is for rough geo-location. They can determine if you are eligible for rewards/etc within the law.

I don’t love the idea of logging my phone number. I’ll probably pass on that. I mean, why is that necessary?

Yeah I tried verifying, input my number and waited for a code to be sent to my number, didn't get any. 
I retired several times but still didn't get any

One thing that boosted my score was disconnecting my Twitter and reconnecting. Went from 400 points to 1600 i think.

Any tip to get to the next level?

Addresses and X accounts are given scores based on age and activity/balances/followers i believe

I think it makes sense after I've thought about it a bit.

For addresses, an older address with activity/balances is more valuable in points than a fresh wallet (much harder to be a bot with an old wallet). Similar with X account, an older account is worth more than a new one for the same reason. Idk about phone number values (I think I've seen differences in them), but could be more for a major carrier vs a pre-paid for instance.

overall I think it's a good idea
but I still don't get the difference between the score among different users for the same task 🤔

I got a 2200 as well but I had to mess with it a bit to get a decent score. My crypto twitter was only 3 years old (but has the blue checkmark) got a terrible score so I switched it to my AI Agent twitter account that was my original account (from 2009) and got a good boost. It's funny that I used a bot account to prove I'm human and up my score. I'm not sure why but my verified addresses only got me 400 points.

The level is similar to the spam label.
On this verification 
0 = you can be verified as spam and there is no new method to get off of spam

1 = you could possibly be labeled as spam, but will be reviewed (manually in guess?)

2 = you cannot be labeled as spam

I didn't. I figured out my issue with the help of @gt 

It was me all along 😅
The phone verification is to be adjusted maybe in a week or so.

Looks like sometime on May, I tried to recover my account or something, and used the wrong email and tied my phone number to that email.

After the change/fix, we will be able to verify any number, even if it had been used before because we verify with the sis 2 step code.

I did it. I don't mind trading the phone number for a boost in points. 

Did you try google voice?
