Zeihan bad takes recently:

- "This is the last iPhone (for 4-5 years)"
- "Tesla is going down another 90%"

On the Tesla point, may be true, but his consistent weak spot is he dismisses Silicon Valley-driven technology breakthroughs. And even in his physical world analysis of defense, underrates SpaceX and Anduril.

Haven't seen a top economist/geopolitical analyst who also gets tech at top level.

And it's a major flaw since "any long-term plan or prediction that ignores technological progress is useless."

^I think "useless" is an overstatement but if the economist can't add tech progress models to their predictions, their predictive power is highly limited
