making the app pretty is mostly a post pmf activity in my personal opinion. 

eye candies can almost never save the day unless the “ship” itself is starting to float already instead of staying leaky.

*does not mean it can be “ugly/unintuitive” though.

unless you do a product for designers i guess, totally agree.

order i think makes sense:
1. product -> build something they want,
2. copy -> show them why it can be useful and convince them to try it,
3. usability -> make it easy to use,
4. design -> make it look great
